IT Asset Disposal

Our fully-accredited IT Asset Disposal service is designed to provide peace of mind, supporting your organisation to dispose of redundant IT equipment in a way that meets your legal responsibilities and has a positive impact on your sustainability goals.

Our fleet of secure, GPS-tracked, low emission vehicles will collect your equipment at a time to suit you, including outside business hours if necessary, and transport it to our state-of-the-art data destruction and recycling facility in Ayrshire.  Our accredited data destruction process will ensure that all data is destroyed in line with current regulations including the Data Protection Act (2018), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations Act. We will then process your equipment for reuse or recycling, according to your preferences and permission.

We can provide full audit trails on equipment collected and will supply all appropriate paperwork and documentation for your reporting purposes.

Secure IT Recycling

We have developed a wide range of processes and solutions to ensure that all IT Assets we process are securely re-used or recycled as part of the Circular Economy, and in line with your organisation's preferences and policies. IT equipment follows our core process from your enquiry, through secure collection and data destruction. Once we have completely destroyed any data, there are three options for the secure recycling of IT equipment.

  • 1

    Refurbish

Where permission is given, we refurbish and reuse equipment in its original form to extend product lifecycles and promote the Waste Hierarchy in line with our Circular Economy approach.

  • 2

    Recover

We manually strip down items to recover as many individual components as possible for re-use.

  • 3

    Recycle

Where refurbishment and recovery are not authorised, or not viable, we separate equipment into base materials, achieving maximum value, resource recovery and recycling rates for each item.

IT Refurbishment & Recovery

We carry out all refurbishment processes in-house, allowing full traceability.

Once any data has been removed, we test and diagnose each unit, using recovered components to replace parts which have failed. If it's not possible to refurbish an item, we manually strip it down to recover as many individual components as possible for reuse. This can include memory modules, processor chips, motherboards, LCD displays, graphic cards, keyboards, power supplies or accessories.

Refurbishing IT equipment or recovering components for reuse results in less resources and energy being required to manufacture new items, and maximises the value of redundant IT assets. Even if not suitable for high-level enterprise usage, recovered components can still be reused for alternative functions. Any components not suitable for reuse are separated into base materials for recycling.

IT Recycling

Where refurbishment is not an option, due to low value or because our customer has not authorised it, we provide a secure and environmentally-safe and responsible disposal service for redundant IT equipment. This includes computers, monitors, servers, printers, routers and other network items.

Once any data has been removed through our accredited data destruction process, we separate the equipment into individual parts and base materials for specialist recycling, including copper wires, aluminium / copper heatsinks, power supplies, hi-grade PCBs containing gold, low-grade PCBs containing copper, cables and plastics. Items of low intrinsic value, such as computer casings, are further shredded to separate steel from plastic.

We make sure we achieve maximum value and optimal recycling rates for every single item. All base material we recover is sent to end refiners in the UK. This allows us control over materials and to carefully audit our end refiners, ensuring they meet our exacting standards.
